Sheryl, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
In a realm abundant with meticulously crafted photographs, mine stand out as a testament to free-spiritedness, fearlessly navigating a unique path in photography without the aid of extensive edits, captured solely through the lens of an iPhone. Foregoing traditional photography classes and research, I ventured out, letting the images that resonated with me dictate my creative journey, embracing the beauty of spontaneity and simplicity.
The decision to shun traditional cameras wasn’t just a matter of convenience for me. It was a rebellious act against the norm, a declaration that art could be born from spontaneity and simplicity. While others meticulously tinkered with settings and post-production software, I embraced the rawness of each shot, firmly believing that if the composition was genuine and captivating, it needed no enhancements.
Water/nature is my ultimate muse. Capturing the unadulterated beauty that unfolded before my eyes became a sacred mission. No Photoshop tips or color corrections found a place in my creative arsenal. The belief was simple yet profound – get it right the first time, capture the essence, and let the beauty captured speak for itself.
